New and Expectant Fathers
Virtual Workshop
Online small group workshop focusing on the wellbeing of new and expectant fathers.
Next Meeting Wednesday June 4, 2025 7:00-8:30pm.
The journey into becoming a father often marks a profound transformation in an individual's life. This experience can bring immense joy as well as considerable challenges. This workshop is designed for new and expectant fathers, providing support for their mental well-being during this transition.
What is this workshop about?
There are many places to learn about the nuts and bolts of baby care– i.e., changing diapers, feeding, swaddling, and sleeping– this is not one of those places. This workshop is about the psychological transition into fatherhood, helping new and expecting fathers navigate this life change with strategies to support their well-being.
Who is this for?
This workshop is designed for fathers from six months before birth/adoption to the first six months of fatherhood. If you fall outside this range but are interested, please reach out via email. All fathers in their first year, regardless of gender identity, are welcome.
What will we do during that time?
The small group workshop will meet for 90 minutes in an online platform. I will share some information about the developmental process of fathers from the literature, some considerations based on my clinical experience, and allow some time for discussion. You are welcome to participate as much as you feel comfortable.
Who is the workshop leader?
My name is Travis and I identify as a father of a daughter. I have been a counseling professional for 20 years, mostly working with men— many of whom are also fathers. This workshop will not be counseling, but it will be focused on the mental and emotional wellness of fathers.
What is the cost for the workshop?
Payment will be “pay what you want” for the 90 minute workshop. Add the workshop to your cart in the store and complete the form at checkout. A meeting invitation will be sent to you via email within two business days.
